The Exquisite Capabilities of the Flying Carpet
"SNYK Skive Ny Kunstmuseum//SNYK Skive New Museum of Art, Denmark. 2009"
Working with abandoned constructions and fallen utopias I went to Berlin to see an abandoned Amusement Park, experience the decaying constructions and wander around the paths, once filled with happy people.
Water Swans lined up at the ground near the Swan Lake, a huge Parisian Wheel, Yellow boats on train-tracks going up and down through water and over bridges. This is much more advanced than anything I experienced as a child
I am taken by the image of the old wagons hanging silently in the air, making sounds of metal lacking oil, contrasting the image of the fun once going on, creates a melancolic feeling. The fun slowed down after the wall opened up to liberation. This is a brutally romantic drama, I want to dig into and investigate this affair.
I went back to the Amusement Park to film the Park
